cleaning trunk before paint?
I take been block sanding out my mistakes on the sealer glaze (entire machine bad orange peel). I have a huge box of the material cloves with rubberized bottoms I recently bought. After block sanding all mean solar day with same pair on I discovered that ane glove has a oily film almost saturated ( I thought it was only persperation). I have no idea what happened to the glove, but realize the unabridged machine is probably contaminated with the oil. Should I go over the car with grease remover? Then perhaps soapy water? What is the all-time way to clean the automobile before paint? The grease remover seems to be to stiff, it wipes abroad the primer/sealer. Is in that location a item production that I tin can purchace on this site? Thanks

I use dish washing soap a lot, like "Dawn" or "Joy"
It sure is the best for removing contaminates similar wax and
silicones. If I can wash it with that, it'southward my offset selection.
Wax and grease remover works real good "IF" it'southward washed properly.
If not, you stop up moving the contaminates around.
Information technology takes a lot of make clean towels.
With soap and water it'south all rinsed away.
If I can wash it with Dawn, then I don't use annihilation else before I
paint, except a pair of clean cotton fiber gloves to handle the console,
(if I need too) and a make clean rag to dry information technology.
Don't leave the water to dry on it.:absurd:

I use dish lather FIRST, then I use a wax and grease remover, so I use a good blueish tack cloth. So yeah you lot tin can use dish soap. Rinse information technology VERY well though.

what kind of primer/sealer are you using? and i have diluted the wax/grease remover earlier with water to keep it from evaporating then fast 75/25, i alive where its zero to become 100 during the summer.

Degreasers
Actually, I sealed the unabridged car and I am most to consummate sanding it with a 400 grit. I was going to then juct wash it downwards with make clean warm water from the hose , tack it and shoot it. Should I still buy some degreaser?
-
in my opinion, yes you however need to wash it with westward/k remover to avoid potential problems.

When we paint we usually wash the vehcile with lather and warm water 1 time and utilize grease and wax remover at to the lowest degree twice before nosotros offset spraying the meridian coats.

there are 2 types of cleaners. a wax and grease remover and
a precleaner.W&G removers can sometimes be potent and wipe off sure
paints or sealers.Precleaners are used just before the paint stage
after y'all accept washed or used W&G prior to sanding then y'all can again wipe
the car down W&G to clean off sanding remainder or wash it with soap and
water. then merely prior to applying pigment use the precleaner.
Spray information technology on and so wipe information technology off with lintfree rage.then tack clothe and paint.
you have sealed the car and had to sand out imperfections simply some cleaners
will remove it so become a mild precleaner and exam it in a spot that will non exist noticed.
They even make waterbased cleaners that won't event the paints.
Depending on the Brand paint your using your jobber should be able to
reccomend the correct cleaner.

Well it depends on what brand of pigment your using
I know Dupont has a wax & grease remover then a precleaner that is ued prior to paint.I'grand not 100% sure only two think PPG does to.i know they have the DX330 cleaner and i recollect hink they have others and or the
waterbase cleaner.I use Advantage brand solvents and cleaner
crusade information technology'south cheaper then the PPG and it's just about the same and
it works excellant with the PPG paint.I'm certain the other paintlines have different cleaner south not just 1.but i do know for a fact that there are some solvent cleaners that will wipe off some of the sealers and fifty-fifty soften the base. i can't rremember the brand it was cause i no longer employ it simply i had it happen to me doing some custom painting where i had to record off graphics
after laying downwardly base and.wanted to wipe it down earlier painting the
next stage.I also had it remove some sealer. Sometimes information technology's best to stick to the cleaners to what brand of paint line you using cause the are designed
chemically to work with each other.
But in that location are different types of cleaners wether it be W&1000 or a precleaner
this i do know form many years in the industry working at different shops
and using different brands of Paint. They all serve the same purpose to clean off contaiminents,
but have different chemicals and strengths.
Maybe your make of paint has only ane type
